Bee Bold Bee Brave Bee Helpful

The word is out, there’s a new MMQG Bee about…Pick a block, write instructions and cut fabrics, send fabric out and get finished blocks back. Easy right?? OK, here’s the fine print….

The bee is open for the first 12 sign ups and will run from October 2012 to April 2013 (6 months with a break in December). You will be making two different blocks per month, with a maximum of 1 block for each bee participant.

This bee will be hosted by Chris C and you must be a MMQG member to be able to join in.

How to Bee a participant!!

Sign up on the MMQG forum under the topic name: Bee Bold Bee Brave Bee Helpful……. by no later than 15 September.

Choose a block, any block, no larger than 16″ (finished). To ensure there is sufficient variety and so that participants can try new techniques no duplicate blocks will be allowed. Due to the mixed skill level amoung our members please avoid tricky appliqué, foundation piecing or quilt as you go blocks. Each block owner is to supply their own fabric.

Please include your full name, email address and preferred block type, when you sign up on the Forum.

Months will be allocated in the order of sign up unless negotiated otherwise.

Each month fabric is due to be mailed prior to the first day of your allocated month with completed blocks having to be returned to owners by the last day of the same month.

You may either cut all the pieces for each block or if your chosen block is ‘improvisational’, provide sufficient fabric to complete the block. Please allow a little extra fabric incase of any mishaps!

Pop fabric in a zip-lock type bag, add your name, contact info, return self-addressed envelope and instructions and send them or hand deliver them to the participants so that they arrive before your allocated month. You may either print the directions for block construction, or write out the FULL address where the instructions can be found eg.http://www.jaybirdquilts.com/2010/04/he … ock-1.html NOT just http://www.jaybirdquilts.com. Please include any other special requirements.

You will be required to provide regular updates on the status of your blocks on the forum.

The key is to communicate and have fun!

For this to be an enjoyable experience for all participants please only sign up if you are able to commit to the above timelines.
