June and July Sewing Meets plus more
|August 19, 2012||Posted by Bronwyn under SASDs, SASEs||
Where did June and July go? Having passed us by as quick as a wink – this is a little of what went on:
Our June SASE at GJ’s saw alot of sewing with others in mind. Lorraine bound a true labour of love for her Dad,
Mandy continued to work on some super cute, bright animal applique blocks for a friend’s baby quilt,
Louise was able to tick another gorgeous baby quilt off her ‘quilts to bind’ list,
and Rebecca was busy handquilting …..
It was also very exciting to see 4 of our newest members there sewing, chatting and having a great time.
Sally won the $20 GJ’s gift voucher and Mary-Anne won the ‘Shape Workshop for Quilters’ book.
July SASD: Chris showed us her new ‘baby’,
Alissa showed us her new project Super Mario block and her Fantastic Owl with snazzy label,
Lisa’s beautiful greens and blues quilt with waves of quilting,
and Margarita laid out on the floor her stunning modern quilt! Lovely to see you back Margarita.
Andrea was a new member too – Welcome to MMQG Andrea!
Amazingly Chris won the book door prize (again!) and Kristy won the $20 voucher – happy spending!
July SASE @ GJs was a lovely night with lots of chatting allround, with maybe a little bit of sewing:
Lorraine finished her Collingwood quilt (and song broke out!),
Andrea started another cowboy quilt (think she likes cowboys?),
We had one new member Kellie, who was working on a lovely fully applique project – just gorgeous! Welcome Kellie from NZ!
No, Chris did not win the door prize this time round – always a next draw Chris!
If you haven’t been to one of our sit and sew events yet, don’t be shy, we’d love to see you there!
We are getting new members every week which is great. We hope to see you at the next Sit and Sew on Fri 24th Aug at GJs and beyond!
Don’t forget to sign up for
